IHK resolution confirms the important role of the newPark for the region and calls for the fastest possible realisation of the industrial site.

Three IHK regional committees have passed a resolution naming the newPark as a significant project for the region. The newPark is an important instrument for increasing the number of employees in innovative fields of work in the Emscher-Lippe region. This is explicitly mentioned in the resolution “Together for Emscher-Lippe”, which was passed by the three IHK regional committees for the cities of Bottrop and Gelsenkirchen and for the district of Recklinghausen. The North Westphalia Chamber of Industry and Commerce also welcomes the increasing political support for the newPark project in the district of Recklinghausen. After all, the newPark is important for the Emscher-Lippe region. “The goal must remain to realise this industrial site, which is so important for structural change in the Emscher-Lippe region, as quickly as possible,” emphasises the chairman of the IHK regional committee for the district of Recklinghausen, IHK Vice President Prof. Dr. Ulrich Sick. “The current planning procedures should be pursued consistently and completed promptly,” he demands. Because the newPark is a great opportunity for the region. It offers future-oriented companies and their employees a new home, and for this “municipalities must be able to offer suitable sites,” emphasises Sick.
